Abstract

Employing the theory of planned behavior (TPB), the study developed a model to identify factors influencing the public's willingness to engage in circular economy modes in South Central Vietnam. The factors include: subjective norms, behavioral control, economic benefits, expected positive emotions, willingness to sacrifice for the environment, and green purchase intentions. Data was collected from January to April 2022, including 559 people living in four cities: Nha Trang, Cam Ranh, Tuy Hoa, and Quy Nhon. The results of PLS-SEM analysis showed that all hypotheses were statistically significant, with expected positive emotions having the strongest impact on the public's willingness to engage in the circular economy modes. The study also proposed policy suggestions to encourage the community to participate in the CEE model, contributing to the goal of sustainable development.
