Abstract

Mediating and multi-mediating role testing is an important step when analyzing multivariate models in behavioral research. In many previous studies, the situation in which exogenous and endogenous variables have overlapping relationships through intermediate variables is common in business-related behavioral research. In order to test the mediating/ multi-mediating role of variables in research model, researchers need to determine the analytical strategy systematically, based on a solid theoretical foundation. Then, determining the type of intermediate effects plays an important role in evaluating research results. This paper aims to synthesize the theoretical foundation of intermediate relationship testing. Accompanying theory is case study illustrating the delaying behavior of employees at work. The analysis of the situation based on the PLS - SEM platform with the support of Smart PLS software version 3.2.8
